AMERICAN INDIAN CENTER OF ARKANSAS

The American Indian Center of Arkansas is a non-profit organization formed in 1977. The AICA is a funded organization through the Workforce Innovations and Opportunities Act (Section 166). This means that their main focus is to provide workforce development and training programs for American Indians in the state of Arkansas.

ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF CAREER EDUCATION

General adult education is instruction for adults functioning between ninth- and 12th-grade levels. The purpose of these classes is to assist individuals in improving their educational skills, preparing for the General Educational Development (GED®) Tests, or preparing for post-secondary standardized entrance exams.

Public health is everything the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) does to protect and improve the health and well-being of all Arkansans – more than 100 services provided statewide by public health professionals to assure that your water is safe, your children have their immunizations, your restaurants are safe and your birth certificate is correct – to name just a few.

The Arkansas Division of Higher Education manages the state’s scholarship and financial aid programs; recommends higher education and institutional budgets to the legislature; assures academic program quality and viability; provides professional development for faculty and staff; provides educational support to business and industry; provides institutional accountability; and promotes the importance of postsecondary education in enhancing both personal and community quality of life.

ARKANSAS DIVISION OF WORKFORCE SERVICES

The Arkansas Division of Workforce Services contains several programs that are specialized for meeting the needs of job seekers, employers, and the general public. These programs are: Career Readiness Certification, Governor’s Dislocated Workers Task Force, Migrant Farm Labor Center, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Trade Adjustment Assistance, Unemployment Services, and Veteran Services.

“Human Development” is the centerpiece of everything done at AHDC. Collaboration is one of their primary strategies, and they have been blessed with dependable partners who help them leverage resources to better serve people.

ARKANSAS JOB CORP

Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. Job Corps provides the all-around skills needed to succeed in a career and in life.

ARKANSAS REHABILITATION SERVICES

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services (ARS) provides a variety of training and career preparation programs. Services include career and technical education and training, transition from school to work or post secondary education, on-the-job training, and ancillary support services that clients may need for successful employment.

CARELINK

CareLink exists to provide information and resources to meet the needs of home-bound and active older people and their family caregivers. They help home-bound older people who are struggling to find the services they need to stay in their own home.

CENTRAL ARKANSAS DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL

Central Arkansas Development Council is a private nonprofit community action agency. They provide a hand-up, promoting self-help in our neighborhoods and for our families. More than 22,000 people have joined with CADC in achieving a shared vision of success.

COMMUNICATION AND OUTREACH OF CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT

The Arkansas Office of Child Support Enforcement has partnered with the Arkansas Workforce Centers, and others who provide services to help the noncustodial parent with skills assessment tools and job search assistance.

COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAM FOR CENTRAL ARKANSAS (CAPCA)

CAPCA is committed to administering high quality programs and services that address economic need, educate, and promote the self-sufficiency of eligible participants.

COMMUNITY SERVICE, INC.

Community Service provides quality care through their professionals specializing in psychiatry, social work, behavioral health, and more. Their programs are provided to anyone from birth to 18 years of age without regard to their ability to pay. They would be honored to help you or a member of your family.

DIVISION OF SERVICES FOR THE BLIND

The Arkansas Division of Services for the Blind is dedicated to the independence of Arkansans who are blind or visually impaired and is committed to the principle that these individuals have the right to make informed choices.

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER

The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a federally funded program that assists adults of ages 19 and above and U.S. veterans to enroll in and complete a post-secondary education program. All services are provided free of charge to participants who meet the eligibility requirements.

FAULKNER COUNTY JUVENILE COURT

The mission of their interventions is to provide court-involved youth increased caring intervention to prevent future court involvement and to encourage positive appropriate behaviors that will further help those young people contribute to society on into adulthood.

LONOKE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY

The Lonoke County Housing Authority (LCHA) is committed to providing strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all.

WAGE™

WAGE™ is a job readiness training program conducted through the Adult Education Division of the Arkansas Department of Career Education. WAGE™ includes 112 basic skills competencies based on the Secretary’s Commission on Achieving Necessary Skills (SCANS) which have been determined as essential by the nation’s and Arkansas’ employers.
