City of Cabot Recognized as a Trendsetter City by the Arkansas House and Senate

CABOT, ARKANSAS– On April 2, 2025, the City of Cabot was formally recognized as a Trendsetter City by both chambers of the Arkansas Legislature for its outstanding achievements in community development and economic growth. The Arkansas House of Representatives passed House Resolution 1080, and the Arkansas Senate passed Senate Resolution 42, commending Cabot’s leadership, innovation, and commitment to community and economic growth.

In 2024, Cabot was honored with the Trendsetter City Award by Arkansas Business in the Technology and Security category. This accolade was in recognition of the city's partnership with Connect2First to develop a comprehensive fiber-optic network. This $20 million bond project provided broadband access to every resident and business within city limits, bolstering economic development, enhancing healthcare and educational access, and positioning Cabot as one of Arkansas's first multi-gig cities.

Additionally, Cabot received an honorable mention in the Tourism Development and Creative Culture category for "Gametime at the Grounds," a 128,000-square-foot regional indoor sports complex. This facility features nine full-sized basketball courts convertible to 18 volleyball courts or 27 pickleball courts, along with an indoor turf area for soccer and baseball/softball practice. The project is anticipated to generate significant revenue for local businesses and strengthen Cabot's reputation as a sports hub.

“We are honored to receive this recognition from both the Arkansas House and Senate,” said Ken Kincade, Mayor of Cabot. “This acknowledgment is a testament to the hard work of our city officials, local businesses, and residents who are committed to making Cabot a premier destination for families and businesses alike. Our focus remains on sustainable growth, job creation, and making Cabot the best place to live, work, and visit.”

House Resolution 1080 and Senate Resolution 42 emphasize Cabot’s proactive approach to economic development, strategic planning, and commitment to enhancing public services. The city has consistently implemented forward-thinking policies and initiatives, positioning itself as a model for other municipalities across the state.

The resolution commends Cabot's visionary leadership and strategic initiatives, emphasizing the city's role in advancing regional prosperity through innovative strategies and community collaboration. It also highlights Cabot's balanced approach to revitalizing its historic downtown while embracing technological advancements.
