In July 2015, the Faulkner County Juvenile Drug Court began collaborating with other agencies to provide additional resources for youth who were involved with the juvenile justice system.” The mission of the Faulkner County Juvenile Court is to provide court-involved youth with increased caring intervention to prevent future court-involvement and to encourage positive, appropriate behaviors that will further help those young people to contribute to society on into adulthood.”
Furthermore, through collaboration with community organizations and volunteers, youth have a chance to receive tutoring, educational and career training opportunities, participate in free parenting classes, and more. In August 2017, Bobby Strobel, Jr., One-Stop Manager of the Central Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway, joined the Faulkner County Juvenile Drug Court team.
More importantly, over the years Bobby has worked with many youth in Faulkner County and has assisted them with Resume Building, Job Readiness Training, Interviewing Skills Training, and Pre-employment Transition Services. He will be able to provide additional resources to assist youth in overcoming their barriers and will contribute to assisting them in obtaining employment thru the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Program (WIOA).
Overall, the Faulkner County Juvenile Drug Court has created numerous partnerships and opportunities for youth, which will prepare them to have a successful future.
