The Arkansas Department of Corrections will hold job fairs at the Arkansas Workforce- North Little Rock location on March 21 and April 4.

The Arkansas Department of Corrections will hold two job fairs at the Arkansas Workforce- North Little Rock office, located at 324 W. Pershing Blvd. Ste. 1, on Friday, March 21, 2024, and Thursday, April 4, 2024. A representative of the Arkansas Department of Corrections will be at both job fairs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.


The Department of Corrections is currently hiring for a DOC Correctional Sergeant at Tucker and ADC/DCC Corporal at the Tucker Maximum Security Unit.


The anticipated starting salary for the DOC Correctional Sergeant is $50,411.20, according to the job posting on the arcareers site. The Arkansas Department of Correction/Department of Community Correction (ADC/DCC) Correctional Sergeant is responsible for guarding and directing the work of inmates, supervising other correctional officers, observing the residents' behavior, and documenting records. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Applicants must have the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma, two years experience in correctional security or law enforcement, and one year in a leadership capacity. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements, except for the certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.


The anticipated starting salary for the ADC/DCC Corporal is $45,180.80, according to the job posting on the arcareers site. The Arkansas Department of Correction/Department of Community Correction (ADC/DCC) Corporal is responsible for maintaining security and directing the activities of inmates/residents during an assigned shift or observing the behavior of inmates/residents and documenting records. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Applicants must have the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma and one year of experience in correctional security or law enforcement. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the basic requirements, except for the certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
