Underemployed single mother, Samantha Wynn wanted an opportunity to overcome personal challenges and was determined to make a change that would allow her to provide for her family.
Feeling uneasy, in October 2016, Samantha sought help through the Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway. Accordingly, Bobby Strobel Jr, One-Stop Center Manager, helped Samantha in the development of a plan, which defined goals required to complete her career path in the health industry.
According to Samantha, the Occupational Skills Training services provided removed the financial hardships and eased some anxiety she previously faced as she worked on her Registered Nurse degree at Baptist Health.
In December 2017, Samantha graduated from Baptist Health and accepted a job as a Registered Nurse at the Central Arkansas Veterans Hospital. In the end, Samantha obtained sustainable employment and is providing for her family. She credits the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program for her success, and she believes with determination and support, anything is possible.
