After participants take part in the 22nd annual Ralph Bunche Community Back to School Picnic from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. to get backpacks and school supplies, Benton First United Methodist Church and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church will wash 400 students' feet and give them a new pair of shoes.

According to First United Methodist Church Benton Senior Pastor Keith Dodson, the main reason the two churches partnered for the event is the "need of witness of unity with other Christians during this season of division in our country and world."

The churches also need 80 to 100 volunteers for the event.
